Section 179 of the IRS tax code allows businesses to deduct the full purchase price of qualifying equipment and/or software purchased during the tax year. This means that if you buy any qualifying OPUS-ISM hardware or software before the end of the year, you can deduct the full purchase price from your 2011 gross income. It’s an incentive created by the U.S. Government to encourage businesses to buy equipment and invest in themselves.
Bonus Depreciation
Under the Tax Relief Act of 2010, Bonus Depreciation now allows a business to depreciate 100% of qualifying equipment for the 2011 tax year! Bonus depreciation can even be applied by businesses that post a net loss for 2011, making it a terrific benefit for newly-opened stores.
The Right Time to Buy
Due to the increased Section 179 limits under the Jobs Act of 2010, and the recently enacted 100% Bonus Depreciation under the Tax Relief Act of 2010, you can essentially write-off all the equipment and software your pharmacy needs to buy this year!* If you have been waiting for the right time to purchase software or equipment, this is it!
