OPUS-ISM POS Systems to Meet FSA Requirements [11/15/08]

OPUS-ISM is pleased to announce that the InteRx and OpusRx POS systems will meet the new IRS requirements for IIAS-eligibility by January 1, 2009. As part of this program, OPUS-ISM will be releasing upgraded versions of its OpusRx and InteRx POS software. The upgraded POS software is integrated with the SIGIS Eligible Product List and will allow the POS system to conduct split tender transactions, so that the eligible items may be charged to a customer’s FSA debit card while non-eligible merchandise can be paid for by the customer with cash, check, house charge or a non-FSA debit or credit card.

The OPUS-ISM POS system will only be IIAS-compliant when combined with a store’s membership in SIGIS and integrated with an IIAS-certified credit card processor. The initial preferred IIAS-certified credit card processor partner for OPUS-ISM’s POS program will be X-Charge, which offers a fast and secure payment-processing platform with some of the lowest pricing in the industry.

Through our partnership, merchants committing to process transactions through X-Charge will receive a copy of X-Charge software at no charge. OPUS-ISM is also working on certifying other payment processors, and we hope to announce new IIAS-compliant credit card processing partners in the future. The updated InteRx and OpusRx POS solutions will also be compliant with the latest PCI DSS standard (version 1.2).
